Polycom Provisioning

The following will detail the steps in configuring RadiusCat MT to Remotely Auto Provisioning the following Polycom products:
·         SoundPoint IP 321/331
·         SoundPoint IP 335
·         SoundPoint 450
·         SoundPoint 550
·         SoundPoint 560
·         SoundPoint 650
·         SoundPoint 670
To Configure RadiusCat MT to Remotely Auto Provision any of the above items please follow the steps below:
Prepare FTP Server
This document will explain provisioning Polycom phones using an FTP Server; however the concepts are very similar if you decide to use an HTTP Server TFTP Server. We recommend the FTP or HTTP provisioning methods as they can be secured with a user name and password.

1.    Obtain and install an FTP Server of your choice. This can be on the same computer that RadiusCat MT is installed on or it can be a separate computer.

NOTE: If the FTP Server will be installed on a separate computer you must ensure that the RadiusCat MT Server can access the FTP folder on the other computer either by way of a Mapped Network Drive (S:\) or UNC Path (\\\>).
2.    Create a user account named ‘polycom’ on the FTP Server and give it READ access to the root folder.
3.    Create a new folder in the FTP root named ‘logging’ and give the ‘polycom’ user READ, WRITE, DELETE access that folder.
4.    Download the latest Polycom software set from the polycom website and unzip the contents to the FTP root folder. We recommend downloading the “split” download if available (http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sip_sw_releases_matrix.html).
5.    Download the latest BootROM software from the polycom website and unzip the contents to the FTP root folder (http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sip_sw_releases_matrix.html).

RadiusCat MT Configuration

1.   Log into RadiusCat (as Super Admin) and click the [Provisioning (IP Phone)] > [Provision::Polycom)] menu option. This will take you to the Polycom default provisioning settings
2.   Ensure that the settings displayed on the module are settings that you would like to Auto-Provision in the Polycom phone. If there is a specific setting that you want to omit from the Auto-Provisioning process, then edit the Provision Key and uncheck the ‘Include’ value for that Key. Like wise if you would like to change the default value for a Provision Key, then simply edit the Provision Key and make the change to the Provision Value and save the item.
3.   Ensure that the value for the [device.prov.serverName] parameter key is correct. This is the URL that instructs the Polycom phone how to contact the FTP Server for provisioning information.
4.   Locate the [config.file.output.location] ParamKey and set its ParamValue to be the path to the FTP Servers root folder. If the FTP Server is not located on the same server as the RadiusCat MT Edition then you must set the ParamValue to be the Mapped Network Drive (S:\) or UNC Path (\\\>) to the FTP root folder. (Please refer to step 1 of the Prepare FTP Server section above).
5.   Open the Account that you would like to associate with a POLYCOM PHONE by going to the Tenant>Tenant Group>Users>User Extension module. Note that you can associate as many different extensions with one Polycom phone based on the amount of Lines that the Polycom phone has.
6.   Click on the User Extension and then click the Provisioning TAB to access.
7.   Enter the Provisioning Information for this extension that you would like to be Auto-Provisioned to the POLYCOM PHONE:
·       Enable Auto Provisioning: To enable/disable Auto-Provisioning for this Extension
·       Device Type:  Select the model Number for the Polycom phone that you will be Auto Provisioning this Extension to
·       Device MAC Address: Enter the MAC Address of the Polycom phone
·       Identity/Extension #: The model of the Polycom phone will dictate the number of Extensions that it can handle. Select the extension number for the POLYCOM PHONE that you would like to Auto-Provision this account for.
·        Display Name: Enter the name that will be displayed for outbound calls made by this extension
·       Station Name: Enter the text that will be displayed as at the very top of the POLYCOM PHONE’s LCD/Colour display (if applicable).Click the SAVE button
